A LETTER TO A FRIEND

            Below is a letter I wrote to an acquaintance that believes Mary Baker Eddy is evil because she has tried to take away Jesus Christ’s place of importance, of the Way Shower, to Christianity.  She idolizes the baby Jesus, yet she does not follow the grown up Jesus’ demands to demonstrate the works and the greater works.  It is much easier for her to believe in a personal savior and let him do all the work while she remains a sinner.  Is this how it is with a lot of Christians; that they do not think they need to do anything to help themselves?  She also believes that Christian Science is not right because she has been told and taught that it is a cult.  However, she does not even understand the real or true meaning of “cult”!  I deny that Christian Science is a cult in the sense that people blindly follow a personality, but it is a cult because it has to do with the “WHEEL” that Ezekiel saw.  And no, Ezekiel’s Wheel was not a spaceship!  What it was and is today, is a matrix structure based on the UPN of the United Paramount Network – the circle, pyramid, and square (or rectangle). Just a joke, but even Conan the Barbarian understood the importance of the wheel!

GENERIC MAN

            I quoted from Paul R. Smillie’s book MARY BAKER EDDY in my post IS MARY BAKER EDDY THE WOMAN THAT GOD-CROWNED?  In his book he talks about generic man and the woman God-crowned (Revelation 12) and that Mary Baker Eddy is the human appearing of the absolute generic man, that the woman in the Apocalypse is the symbol, just as Jesus, being the human appearing, is the Lamb (symbol) and the Christ is the absolute.  We even use the term of Christ Jesus or Jesus Christ, which is the absolute Christ appearing as the human Jesus and the symbol is that he is the Lamb of God.  Smillie says that we do not call ourselves the Lamb of God, for there is only one Lamb and that is Jesus.  He continues to say that we cannot claim to be the woman of the Apocalypse because that belongs to Mary Baker Eddy alone.  But I am wondering if he is 100% correct about what he says on this topic.  {All my comments to his work and Helen Wright’s work, while quoting from their books, will be in these types of brackets.}  On page 245 he says, “Christian Scientists are fond of saying that Mrs. Eddy says the Woman in the Apocalypse is generic man, but she does not say that.  ‘The woman in the Apocalypse symbolizes generic man, the spiritual idea of God; she illustrates the coincidence of God and man as the divine Principle and divine idea.’  This statement says that the Woman ‘symbolizes’ generic man but certainly does not say the woman is generic man.

            Let me first begin with two articles attributed to Mary Baker Eddy in Essays and Other Footprints.  They are both really about the Christ Advents.  These are of importance in understanding why Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science are so important.  And I feel that to understand what she has written on this subject helps us to understand her place in Bible prophecy, and what she was conveying to us in Christ and Christmas. 

            I will not place quote marks around them.  The first article or essay is found on page 23-24 and the second one is found on page 47-49.
