REVELATION – VISION III – TRUTH reflecting SOUL – Part 5a

Now for the third Branch-Church Candlestick of TRUTH (Pergamos) with the third Star-Angel of SOUL (Moses) for VISION III – SEEKING AND FINDING (Christ and Christmas)

Revelation-III-Da*The 3 trumpets for Life, Truth, and Love (the three advents of Christ) become the basis of the 3 woes to materialism, noted above in Box, V. 13.

“What the Beloved [the Son of David, Jesus Christ] knew and taught,
Science repeats [via Mary Baker Eddy],
Through understanding, dearly sought,
With fierce heart-beats;” (Christ and Christmas; [My interpolations.])

THIRD VISION:  TRUTH reflecting SOUL (Chapters 8:2-11:19).  The seven trumpets of Truth and the little book (SCIENCE AND HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES, by Mary Baker Eddy), the measuring reed (the Holy Grail Pen of Mary Baker Eddy)], and the two Christ witnesses.

The sixth Branch-Church Candlestick of TRUTH and sixth Star-Angel (Moses) of SOUL

Protective Introduction:  Revelation 8:2-6 – A great expression of gratitude (incense) is offered.

VISION III begins with chapter 8:2, “And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.”  The trumpets are symbols of Truth, God’s Truth being declared.  The seven angels represent the seven Star-Angles which follow the Word order of the seven names for God, given to us by Mary Baker Eddy.

Verse 2 – John sees the seven angels standing before God.  These are the seven Star-Angels (following the Word order) to the seven churches (which follow the Christ order).

LOVE
Verse 3 has “another angel” coming to stand at the altar.  This angel has a golden censer – incense of gratitude.

Verse 3 – “another angel”—John W. Doorly tells us that this angel is “the Christ reflecting Christianity, the Christ translating itself to every plane of thought.  So here we have the tones of Love, Soul, Spirit, Mind.”[1]

Verse 3 cont. – “altar” and “incense”—“have the tone of Love.  (See Hea. 2:25-28.)”[2]

SOUL
Verse 3 cont. – “‘prayers’—Soul-sense.”[3]

SPIRIT
The smoke of the incense (verse 4) comes from the saint’s prayers; the smoke comes up from the angel’s hand.

Verse 4 – “fire of the altar”—“purification through Spirit.”[4]

MIND
Verse 5 – “‘cast it into the earth’—Mind relegates matter to its native nothingness, dust to dust.”[5]
In verse 5 the angel filled the censer with fire from the altar of Love and throws it to earth in order to correct material thoughts.  This causes a great upheaval of erroneous conditions, or what is referred to in Science as chemicalization.

TRUTH
Then in verse 6 the seven angels, with the seven trumpets, prepare to declare the Christ-Truth.

Verse 6 – “‘prepared themselves to sound’—Mrs. Eddy writes, ‘It is highly important—in view of the immense work to be accomplished before this recognition of divine Science can come—to turn our thoughts towards divine Principle, that finite belief may be prepared to relinquish its error’ (S&H 322:9-13).  Jesus said, ‘what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.’”[6]
The declaration of Truth starts the self-destruction of all materialism.  What the readers of Revelation once understood had become lost.  People forgot what the symbols meant.  This means that before Mary Baker Eddy was able to seek and find the Truth she had to uncover what had become lost in Revelation.  Was what she heard like the seven trumpets of Truth?
“The sounding of the seven trumpets symbolizes Truth’s uncovering of error.  Here again the sequence is that of Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, and Love.”[7]  “Peals that should startle the slumbering thought from its erroneous dream are partially unheeded; but the last trump has not sounded, or this would not be so.  Marvels, calamities, and sin will much more abound as truth urges upon mortals its resisted claims; but the awful daring of sin destroys sin, and foreshadows the triumph of truth.” (S&H 223:25-31)  “The trumpet is that which assembles and warns; it uncovers error to us.  (See also Mis. 208:2-5; S&H 571;10-14 and 291:28-292:4 [to first period].}”[8]

TRUTH reflecting SOUL declares TRUTH operating as MIND (Revelation 8:7)

The First Trumpet
“This vision is an opening wedge, showing the progress made in spiritual warfare when the work of the declarations of Truth is operating.”[9]

Verse 7 – “Here we have the first trumpet [of TRUTH], with the tone of Mind [as the first angel in VISION III (SOUL)].  Truth through the power of Mind uncovers the nothingness of matter and the belief that matter can bring forth or produce anything.  Truth as Mind operates to expose the powerlessness, the nothingness, the falsity, of that which identifies itself as materiality.”[10]
The first message (Star-Angel) of Truth comes bringing up the chemicalization of hail (correction) and fire (purification) mingled with blood (suffering) cast upon the earth (matter).  Hoyt seems to think that hail is pride, fire is haughtiness, and blood is self-will.  A third part of the trees (pride, haughtiness, and human will – see Isaiah 2:10-19) are burned up (destroyed).  I think that this “third part” is the First Degree: Depravity.  I feel that every time a “third part” is mentioned it refers to the First Degree.

                                                First Degree:  Depravity.
Physical.  Evil beliefs, passions and appetites, fear, depraved will, self-justification, pride, envy, deceit, hatred, revenge, sin, sickness, disease, death.  Unreality” (S&H 115:20-24)

The green grass is a surface condition (or surface types of erroneous thought) that is burned up (destroyed).  This is followed by hail and fire mingled with blood.  When a declaration of Truth (trumpet) is cast into materialism (earth), or material thinking (mortal mind), we are bound to find an upheaval of some sort.  The Truth begins the self-destruction of the First Degree.
I am not opposed to the grass being a “surface condition” as it seems to go along with Mary Baker Eddy’s explanation of the earth, on page 559:6-8 of the Textbook.  “The angel’s left foot was upon the earth; that is, a secondary power was exercised upon visible error and audible sin.”  Visible error and audible sin are surface conditions.

Verse 7 cont. – “‘fire mingled with blood’—a symbol of the destruction of materiality or mortal life.”[11]
“Translation:
“A simple Declaration of Truth starts the self-destruction of all deep rooted wrong thinking, with correction, purification, and suffering.  But the same Declaration of Truth can completely destroy all surface types of wrong thinking.  Thus you appreciate why the Declaration of Truth, the trumpet symbol, is an opening wedge in thinking.”[12]

Verse 7 cont. – “hail” is a symbol for “the power of Mind, which cannot be withstood.  Isaiah says, ‘Judgment also will I lay to the line,’ — the Word, — ‘and righteousness’—right consciousness — ‘to the plummet:’ — a means of exact measurement: — ‘and the hail’ — the power of divine ideas — ‘shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters’ — the elements of Mind — ‘shall overflow the hiding place’ — of error.”[13]

Verse 7 cont. – “cast upon the earth”  “The words ‘cast unto the earth’ show the dragon to be nothingness, dust to dust” (S&H 567:23-26 – Mary Baker Eddy’s commentary of Revelation 12), “and remember that in the first thousand years of Bible history the serpent is a type of the dragon.  In her definition of ‘Earth’ Mrs. Eddy says, ‘To material sense, earth is matter’ (S&H 585:7).  (See also Mis. 101:22-24.)”[14]  Moses laid down his staff upon the mountain and it turned into a serpent.  He ran from it, but wisdom had him turn around and handle the serpent.  He picked it up by its tail and it turned back into his staff.  The staff represents the denial of error.  It was Mary Baker Eddy’s God-crowned mission to handle the serpent of animal magnetism by stepping upon its head.

Verse 7 cont. – “the third part of the trees was burnt up”— “we find that the phrase ‘the third part’ keeps reappearing in the seven trumpets, and it symbolizes the opposite of the third day of creation, a false sense of identity [the First Degree].  Here we see how the false identity of materiality is destroyed by Mind.  Mind shows that matter has no real identity.  Remember also that Mrs. Eddy writes that ‘error, when found out, is two-thirds destroyed, and the remaining third kills itself’ (Mis. 210:5-7).”[15]

TRUTH reflecting SOUL declares TRUTH operating as SPIRIT (verses 8 & 9)

The Second Trumpet
We have the second Branch-Church Candlestick of TRUTH reflecting SOUL with its trumpet [of TRUTH] operating as Spirit.  “Truth as Spirit operates as the calculus of reality to uncover the so-called calculus of unreality.”[16]  The second message of Truth comes; the Truth is like a great mountain that burns with fire.  Moses saw the burning bush on the mountain and his declaration of Truth is the recognition of true identity (Soul) – I Am that I Am.  This mountain is cast into the sea (hidden erroneous conditions of subjective thought).  So in the last tone there is the objective (surface) conditions of the earth and in this tone there is the hidden erroneous conditions of the subjective thought.  “Did this same book [that the angel of Revelation 10 held in her hand] contain the revelation of divine Science, the ‘right foot’ or dominant power of which was upon the sea, — upon elementary, latent error, the source of all error’s visible forms?” S&H 559:2-6 [My interpolation.].

Verse 8 – “‘a great mountain’—a symbol of the calculus of Spirit.  Daniel speaks of the stone which ‘became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.’”[17]  Of course, I have the Major Pyramid Matrix of Truth that I feel represents “a great mountain.”  Doorly knew nothing about my pyramid matrices.
“Now let me ask you another question.  What occurs when something hot, burning with fire, is cast into cold water?  We find that it steams and sputters.  This is called chemicalization in a chemical laboratory.  Thus we arrive at our translation.
“The Declaration of Truth, namely the recognition of I AM THAT I AM, starts chemicalization of all erroneous phases of commerce and trade (ships), and of resistance to good (creatures in sea).”[18]

Verse 8 cont. – “‘burning with fire’—purification through Spirit.”[19]  This simply means the baptism of fire.
It is a chemicalization and purification of false types of business procedures based upon depravity (the First Degree), which is symbolized by ships on the sea.  Hoyt explains that ships are references to erroneous phases of dependence on commerce and trade (business activity).  She says, “but by contrast ships always refer to false dependence, false worship of commercial activity.”[20]  This explanation tells me that ships could also be symbols of church activity.  Many church members develop a false dependence upon the hierarchy and they falsely worship their church heads.  Commercial activity may take place with such functions as gambling to raise funds for the church.  Jesus threw out the moneymakers who were making money off the Temple and its worshippers.  When Christian Scientists wanted to raise money to build a church in Boston they decided to hold a fair.  Mary Baker Eddy warned them not to proceed with this idea, she expected them to demonstrate raising funds through prayer, but they did not heed her wisdom.  The result was that the man running the event stole all the money they made.  “Thus, we see that a nation depending upon commerce and trade as its god is bound to fall”.[21]

Verse 8 cont. – “‘the sea”—in the first trumpet we have the symbol of the ‘earth,’ but here we have the ‘sea,’ and Mrs. Eddy speaks of the sea as ‘a symbol of tempest-tossed human concepts advancing and receding’ (S&H 536:6-7)—in other words, the flesh.  Remember that it is in the second thousand-year period of Bible history that the story of the flood is introduced.”[22]  The earth and sea pop up later in Revelation with the two beasts of the red dragon.  One beast comes up from the sea (hidden erroneous conditions) and the other comes out of the earth (visible error and audible sin).  But the angel of Revelation 10 has her feet upon the sea and the earth; in other words, she stamps upon the heads of the two beasts belonging to the red dragon.
I repeat, “Did this same book contain the revelation of divine Science, the ‘right foot’ or dominant power of which was upon the sea, — upon elementary, latent error, the source of all error’s visible forms?”
Mary Baker Eddy finishes by telling us that, “The ‘still, small voice’ of scientific thought reaches over continent and ocean to the globe’s remotest bound.” (S&H 559:8-10)

Verse 9 – “‘the third part of the sea became blood’—the false identity of the flesh was uncovered as the belief of mortal life, the essence of which is blood.  (See also S&H 252:15-17, 26-30; 293:24-28; 556:3-9.)”[23]

TRUTH reflecting SOUL declares TRUTH operating as SOUL (verses 10 & 11)

The Third Trumpet
We have the third Branch-Church Candlestick of TRUTH with the trumpet [of TRUTH], reflecting the tone of Soul [as the third Star-Angel in VISION III (SOUL)] in the tone of SOUL.  “Truth as Soul uncovers all false identity.”[24]

Verse 10 – “‘There fell a great star from heaven’ — in the third thousand years from Adam the ‘great star’ was Moses.  (See also S&H 477:20-25, 29-31.)”[25]  While this is true, the “great star” of Verse 10 is not Moses, but a counterfeit of Moses.  The counterfeit of Moses were the men (priests) who sat in Moses’ high seat (they claimed to be his successors).
“As a rule, a great star in the New Testament, such as the Day Star, the Day Spring, the Morning Star, is a reference to the Christ.[26]  In this third section of Vision III, however, we find that the great star is given a specific name, and the name is Wormwood.  This would indicate, therefore, that we are dealing with the counterfeit thought or perhaps false identity, a.k.a. personal sense.  How do the prophets of the Old Testament refer to the word ‘wormwood’?  Jeremiah has much to say about it.  He says:
“‘Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, behold, I will feed them with wormwood.’

“Again he says:
“‘From the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.  Behold, I will feed them with wormwood.’
“Amos also recounts that when justice and righteousness are cast down to the earth, this condition is synonymous with what wormwood means.  It indicates the kind of thinking found in a nation when contempt for God, injustice, unrighteousness and unfaithfulness to the true concept of law is present.  Thus, wormwood becomes a symbol of current false practices and teachings.  Wormwood poisons and makes bitter.  In this third section these poisonous, bitter, false practices and teachings are pictured as falling upon the rivers and fountains of waters.  In the Bible the rivers and fountains of water are always associated with true teachings.”[27]
Remember what Moses cast down to the ground?  It was his staff.  When he did this his staff became a serpent, and he ran from it in fear.  But divine wisdom turned him around and he picked up the serpent by the tail and it turned back into his staff, that which supported him.  What happened when the Boston Board of Directors took God’s divine Church Manual to the material courts to have it interpreted by law?  The Board threw this rod of divine Science to the ground and it became a serpent in the hands of personal sense.
Today the wormwood has been placed into the Euphrates River (divine Science), just as in the days of Ishtar (see footnote #26).  Mary Baker Eddy defines the Euphrates River as “Divine Science encompassing the universe and man; the true idea of God; a type of the glory which is to come; metaphysics taking the place of physics; the reign of righteousness.  The atmosphere of human belief before it accepts sin, sickness, or death…” (S&H 585:16-21)

Verse 10 – “‘burning as it were a lamp’—we have seen that the ‘seven lamps’ symbolize the identity of the days of creation.  (See Rev. 4:5.)”[28]  However, this “burning as it were a lamp” must be the counterfeit of the “seven lamps.”  Even the words “burning as it were,” which means “burning as if it were,” points to the fact that it is a counterfeit Star-Angel (a false successor).

Verse 10 cont. – “‘the rivers’—channels of mortal thought.”[29]

Verse 10 cont. – “‘the fountains of waters’—the sources of mortal thought.  (See S&H 489:19-23.)”[30]  It is Doorly’s opinion that these rivers and fountains of waters are mortal thought.  Mary Baker Eddy defines “river” as “Channel of thought.” (S&H 593:14).  She does not specify what type of thought the river is until lines 15-17.  “When smooth and unobstructed, it typifies the course of Truth; but muddy, foaming, and dashing, it is a type of error.”  So, is our thinking (our channel of thought) unobstructed (divine) or muddy (material)?

Verse 11 – “‘Wormwood,’ ‘bitter’—the opposite of the sweetness of joy of Soul.  When Moses gave the Commandments to the children of Israel, the assimilation of them was a bitter experience.”[31]  Even the word “bitter” is used in reference to us eating the little open book (See Rev. 10).  I am also sure that the Church Manual By-Laws was often a bitter experience to the Board of Directors as well!  “The Christian Scientist knows that spiritual faith and understanding pass through the waters of Meribah here — bitter waters; but he also knows they embark for infinity and anchor in omnipotence” (My 132:8-11).  Would not this bitterness be caused by the objection to Mary Baker Eddy’s spiritual teachings?

Verse 11 cont. – “‘many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter’—many mortal beliefs perished because their bitterness became apparent.”[32]
The third message of Truth comes upon the spiritual teachings (the rivers and fountains of waters).  These spiritual (true) teachings have been poisoned by false-scholastic theology, ecclesiastical despotism, and malpractice.  These are the Wormwood, the counterfeit star (prophet), as it appears to burn like a lamp (illumination), but it is only a pretense of light (not Mind or Truth).  Michael (Truth) is the real Star-Prophet and his false-brother Lucifer is error, Truth’s counterfeit.  Lucifer is a “fallen star” just as the Wormwood is.  Lucifer represents animal magnetism (lighting) while Michael represents God’s Christ-Truth (the real Morning Star, a.k.a. Venus).  Michael means: “Who is like God?”  The answer is the Christ-man is like God.  The fountains of waters and the rivers are actually spiritual teachings based upon Truth, the Wormwood of false teachings is interjected into these spiritual teachings and one third of the Word of God becomes poisoned by Lucifer, animal magnetism.  This means that the poison represents depravity – self-destruction in the disturbed human mind through unfaithfulness to law, disobedience to God, profaneness or contempt for God.  But the Truth of the third trumpet interjects the poisoned waters with Truth and Truth reverses error (always).

First Edition

When man’s true identity (Soul) is hid from him by false teachings of physical science, of the church, and materia medica then he believes himself to be a fallen star or a fallen man (born of Adam).
Let me go into the meaning of the Daystar or Morning Star, a reference to Christ-Mind and Christ-Truth, as well as, divine Science.  Venus, the planet, is called Daystar, Morning Star, and Evening Star.  So what did Jesus really mean when he promised us the Morning Star or Venus?  Spiritually translated it would mean the Christ Light, yet, there is (I strongly feel) a more important meaning behind his promise.  Remember that he also promised us the Comforter that is Christian Science, the second coming of Christ.
It is a fact that Venus is like the upcoming woman God-crowned spoken of in the capstone Vision.  Venus becomes “clothed with the sun” when it transits the sun.  Venus does not transit the sun all the time, but when it does it happens twice within a period of eight years.  First the land for the Comforter had to be prepared.  This land was the United States of America.  Venus’ two transits of the sun took place during the time of the Revolutionary War and the period when the U.S.A. gained its independence from the all-controlling Mother Country of England.
Venus transited the sun twice during Mary Baker Eddy’s God-crowned mission as the woman God-crowned.  These two transits point to the second Christ advent (for the Sixth Day of Truth).  The first time was in 1874 and the second was in 1882.  The angel (Revelation 10) was preparing her book by studying Holy Scripture in 1874 (as seen in SEEKING AND FINDING).  Her book, SCIENCE AND HEALTH, was published in 1875 (first edition).  Then in 1882 Mary Baker Eddy began to fully understand her mission as the woman God-crowned.
Venus would transit the sun again in June of 2004 and June of 2012.  These two transits point to the third Christ advent (for the Seventh Day of Love), when the woman’s successor would come to speak the Truth to the world about the two Christ missions of Jesus Christ and Mary Baker Eddy and she would speak out and expose the wormwood found in the woman’s writings and periodicals.

TRUTH reflecting SOUL declares TRUTH operating as PRINCIPLE (verses 12 & 13)

The Fourth Trumpet
We have the third Branch-Church Candlestick of TRUTH reflecting the third Star-Angle of SOUL declaring TRUTH with the fourth trumpet, operating as Principle.  “Truth operating as Principle exposes all false systems, as it did in the fourth thousand-year period of Bible history, when the false systems of government and theology were uncovered down to the bone.  Remember that what you and I need to-day is an understanding of the ever-present fact of Truth as Principle, — how it is an irresistible divine calculus which demonstrates and interprets itself.”[33]
The fourth message of Truth comes and a third part of the sun is smitten, a third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.  Remember the Fourth Day of Principle in Genesis 1 with the sun, the moon, and the stars that God created?  When Joseph has one of his Vision dreams (in Genesis) these same symbols represent father (sun), mother (moon), and sons (stars).  Jacob, as father-sun would spiritually translate Baal Nimrod, while Israel as mother-moon would spiritually translate Ishtar (Semiramis), and the twelve tribes of Israel as the twelve stars (or Stargates) would spiritually translate Ishtar’s illegitimate son, Tammuz.  Moses also translated the science of astrology into Science with his cult (Wheel) described in the book of Numbers – when he placed the twelve tribes around the Holy Tabernacle.  Today the wheel is given to us in symbolic form as Window of the Open Book.

Window of the Open Book City

Verse 12 – “‘the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars’—false systems are destroyed by the light of the divine system as identified in the fourth day of creation.  It was that light, revealed in the fourth thousand years in the Priestly document, which uncovered the hopelessness of false systems, and before which all the cherished beliefs of the Hebrews went down.  (See also S&H 121:24-32 and 129:11-20.)”[34]

Verse 12 cont. – “the third part of them was darkened”—“Human hypotheses have darkened the glow and grandeur of evangelical religion.” (Ret 35:14-15)  “Persecution of all who have spoken something new and better of God has not only obscured the light of the ages, but has been fatal to the persecutors.” (S&H 560:24-27)
Since the third part of them is destroyed by Truth then it is the false teachings (handed down through centuries) of sun, moon, and star (astrology) worship that are destroyed via spiritual translation.  The false teachings belong to the First Degree.  Hoyt writes, “By these false teachings I refer to projected mental suggestion, mesmerism, hypnotism, astrology and their like.”[35]  It is this false type of worship that darkens man’s consciousness.  “Today, and throughout all ages, sun worship has taken the form of projected mental suggestion; moon worship appears as hypnotism, mesmerism, black magic, esoteric magic; and star worship appears as astrology.”[36]

Verse 13 – Principle (“an angel flying through the midst of heaven”) announces the three woes.  These woes go out to all material beliefs, because the three angels that will sound are forever demonstrating themselves.  The three angels are Life, Truth, and Love – the three advents of Christ.
Enter omni-active Science – “And I beheld, and heard an angel (it really is an eagle) flying through the midst [Principle] of heaven [harmony], saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe [these are three woes to materialism, or material thinking, three points in regeneration that will be proclaimed by the three angel (Scientific) thoughts which are yet to announce their declarations of Truth.], to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels [of Life, Truth, and Love], which are yet to sound!” [My interpolations.]
Hoyt tells us (p. 169) “This announcement is one of extraordinary value.”  Why is this so?  Because these three angels (eagles [of Science]) and their trumpets represent the Christ Truth during the Fifth Day of Life, the Sixth Day of Truth, and the Seventh Day of Love when the three advents of Christ take place as the first great light – Jesus (Sun of God), the second great light – Mary Baker Eddy (woman who has her feet upon the moon [has dominion over material physics]), and generic man (twelve Stargate constellations – the twelve stars of the woman’s crown).

TRUTH reflecting SOUL declares TRUTH operating as LIFE (Chapter 9:1-12, with the First Woe that handles false fatherhood – the false sense of being)

The Fifth Trumpet
We have the third Branch-Church Candlestick of TRUTH reflecting the third Star-Angel of SOUL (Moses) declaring the message from the fifth trumpet [of TRUTH] operating as Life.  The angel of Life, representing Jesus Christ, brings the first woe.  “Truth as Life, true individuality, operates to uncover the false sense of being.”[37]

Verse 1 – “‘I saw a star [the star of Bethlehem] fall from heaven unto the earth’ — Jesus Christ, who individually demonstrated the scientific sense of being in the fifth thousand years from Adam.  Mrs. Eddy says, ‘In Science all being is individual; for individuality is endless in the calculus of forms and numbers. … Clothed, and in its right Mind, man’s individuality is sinless, deathless, harmonious, eternal’ (Mis. 104:9-10, 14-15).”[38]  I feel that this falling star is not one who fell from Grace, like Adam or even Lucifer, but rather, in this Verse, the meaning of “fall” is about the first coming of Christ.  This star that falls (comes) from heaven nullifies the bitterness of Wormwood.  For Jesus is the descending Christ “which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error.”

Verse 1 cont. – “‘and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit’—Jesus demonstrated the scientific handling of sin, disease, and death.  He was able to say, ‘I have overcome the world.’”[39]
The fifth message of Truth comes as Jesus the Christ, the masculine representative of the Christ.  The recognition of the first coming of Christ is of most importance.  “I saw a [prophet] star [known as Jesus] fall [descend or come] from heaven unto the earth [for this is the first coming of Christ]:  and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.” [My interpolations.]  Even though the Church makes Jesus into something he never was Jesus still has the key to eternal Life.  We could say that this key is the key to hell being destroyed – the self-destruction of all phases of material carnal thinking and acting.
And he opened the bottomless pit [Christ Jesus uncovered the nothingness of death]; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun [who is Christ Jesus] and the air [Christlike spiritual thoughts] were darkened by [human] reason of [belonging to] the smoke of the pit [the red dragon’s ecclesiastical despotic methods].” (Rev. 9:2; [My interpolations.])
Light and understanding become darkened for a while, this is known as the dark ages, caused by a Roman church that believes and teaches that Jesus, the man, happens to be God.  This bottomless pit of erroneous teachings fools mankind for quite some time.

Verse 2 – “‘there arose a smoke out of the pit’—the personalizing of Jesus’ mission.  Jesus’ individual demonstration of Principle has been distorted by personal sense, and the outcome has been mass-thinking in religion instead of individual thinking.”[40]

Verses 3 – “The ‘locusts’ of verse 3 symbolize ignorant belief in materiality, and the ‘scorpions’ symbolize malicious animal magnetism.  (See also Mis. 114:30-15.)”[41]
Out of smoke of the pit (obscuration of Truth about Jesus) rises up locusts (thoughts of indecision, confusion, lack and destruction) and scorpions (seeming to have the power to torment man).
They have no real power to kill man, but they do seem to be able to torment and sting man until the conditions are self-destroyed.
These tormenting locust thoughts caused such terror that they appeared to John as horses ready for battle, and they claimed to have power and dominion, for they are of the Church.

Verses 4-6 – “‘And it was commanded them that day they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree;’—there again we see the safety of true identity; — ‘but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads’—mortals, with no sense of their spiritual individuality.  The ‘five months’ for which those men are to be tormented symbolize the five physical senses.  (See also Mis. 104:15-21 and No. 42:15-18.)”[42]
They are not to harm the grass of the earth. At this point Hoyt changes her definition of the grass of the earth to being true humility, meekness, gratitude, right thinking, and immortality.  (In a Vision dream I had many years ago grass was a symbol of the Christian congregation.)  The locusts and scorpions only destroy beliefs that do not have the approval or the seal of God.

Verse 7 – “ ‘the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle’—another symbol of man thinking.”[43]
Tormenting beliefs, the locusts, depend upon material protection, symbolized by breastplates of iron, and their false activity, or wings, were so terrible, it was like the sound of many chariots of horses running to battle.

Verse 8 – A false sense of glory and pride (having long hair) grow out of indecision, confusion, lack, and destruction, and these thoughts are sharp, distressing and destructive, like cruel teeth.
But their power to sting and torment continues only until the wrong beliefs are corrected.  These evils thus uncovered and exposed are self-destroyed.  And “their power was to hurt men five months.”  They hurt man through the five material senses the false belief that life is material and that there is sensation in matter.  Another interpretation of “five months” would be the fifth son of Jacob, being Dan, who is a symbol of animal magnetism.

Verse 11 – “‘Abaddon,’ ‘Apollyon’—destruction.”[44]  This is “a king over them” mortals, the angel of the bottomless pit.
Just as Moses high seat was claimed by false successors so this Roman Mother Church has a king (a false messenger who was not sent by God) ruling over the Christians; this king is called Pope (Father).  This Pope, false Christ successor, is the angel of the bottomless pit called Abaddon (Hebrew translation) and Apollyon (Greek translation) – which means, “destruction.”
“But remember that the recognition of the Christ with dominion over this type of thinking is the first woe to materialism.  There are two woes yet to come.”[45]  The first woe, that a Roman Imperial Pope is the successor of Jesus, the Christ, is over because the Truth has been declared and heard by loyal followers of “The Way.”
“The sounding of the fifth trumpet gives a wonderful sense of Jesus’ achievements in the fifth thousand-year period, in which he demonstrated the scientific overcoming of evil, exposed false individuality, false teaching, and showed all evil and mortality to be the outcome of the one liar.  But you and I don’t want to limit our concept of the operation of Life to that fifth period.  We want to understand what Truth as Life means in all its infinitude.  What did it mean in Jesus’ time?  It meant the Christ which resurrected itself from mortality, the Christ which multiplied health, holiness, and happiness, the Christ individualized.  As we understand Truth as Life, that same sense comes to us, and enables us to lay down the anti-Christ of false manhood, of disease, of false standard, which instead of bringing multiplication brings deprivation, instead of bringing individuality brings false personality and mass-mesmerism, instead of bringing exaltation brings debasement and defilement.”[46]

Verse 12 – “One woe is past…” what is this first woe?  Is it not the belief that physical science is real?  Jesus brought true Science when he came, God’s Science, the Christ Science.

TRUTH reflecting SOUL declares TRUTH operating as TRUTH (Chapter 9 verses 13-21, the Second Woe handles the false manhood in a Mother Church)

The Sixth Trumpet
We have the sixth Branch-Church Candlestick of SOUL reflecting the sixth Star-Angel of TRUTH (Mary Baker Eddy) with the sixth trumpet [of TRUTH], operating as Truth.  “Truth as Truth uncovers false manhood.”[47]  The true meaning of the word “Apocalypse” is “to uncover evil.”

Verses 13 & 14 – “four horns of the golden altar”—The Golden Altar of Incense is symbolic of Love, and the altar has four horns of power.  Doorly writes:  “‘four horns,’ ‘four angels’—the ‘four’ is so often introduced either in the tone of Spirit or of Truth.  ‘Horns’ are here a symbol of the positive nature of Truth, of the impulsion of the Christ.”[48]
Hoyt explains that an old tradition explains the angels stationed at the river’s source waters.  When the bad angels were bound they gathered up the waters and the riverbeds became practically dry.  When they were loose the water flowed freely.  It was when the waters were bound up (which was the dry season) that the “kings of Assyria, Babylon and Persia with their armies [were] able to cross the dried up river bed of the great Euphrates and sweep across the oases of the Syrian desert toward the eastern shores of the Mediterranean.”[49]  Thus, when man’s flow of conscious spiritual thoughts dry up it allows error to creep into his thinking.
She further explains that it is the four horseman of Vision II “who appear as the marauding kings, sweeping across the Euphrates River to bring destruction to the alert thought of the Palestine area.”[50]
The sixth message proclamation and declaration of the Truth comes through Mary Baker Eddy, the feminine representative of the Christ, and “I heard a voice from the four horns [power given to the divine infinite calculus] of the golden altar [Love] which is before God.

Verse 14 – “‘Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates’—Mrs. Eddy defines four rivers in her ‘Glossary,’—‘Pison,’ ‘Gihon,’ ‘Hiddekel,’ and ‘Euphrates.’  ‘Pison’ is ‘The love of the good and beautiful, and their immortality’ (S&H 593:1-2); ‘Gihon’ is ‘The rights of woman [not the plural – women] acknowledged morally, civilly, and socially’ (S&H 587:3-4), and those rights were first acknowledged when the Virgin became the mother of Jesus; ‘Hiddekel’ is ‘Divine Science understood and acknowledged’ (S&H 588:5-6); and the primary definition of ‘Euphrates’ is ‘Divine Science encompassing the universe and man’ (S&H 585:16-17).  Look at that deeply interesting sequence.  Those four rivers are all types of thought, and they illustrate in a measure the Word, the Christ, Christianity, and Science.  They are the ‘four angels’ which the ‘Euphrates’ as finite mortal thought (see the second part of Mrs. Eddy’s definition of ‘Euphrates’ on page 585, lines 19-22 [only the last portion of line 19]) would always keep bound.”[51]
These four rivers are actually one body of water; they are spoken of in Genesis as the four rivers of Eden (the body).  That is quite a paragraph Doorly gave us, however, I disagree with him about the river Gihon.  While the Virgin Mary may have been treated decently, she is not the focus of the definition.  Doorly fights the Truth about Mary Baker Eddy, for Mary Baker Eddy is the woman that she is speaking of in her definition.  This is so, because she is the second coming of Christ, the angel of whom this section is all about!  Now, until we, and this includes Christian Scientists of the Church and the Independents, acknowledge Mary Baker Eddy’s rights morally, civilly, and socially then the river of thought is dammed up, the flow will not move and the waters become stagnant.  Verse 14 tells the sixth angel to “Loose the four [spiritual] angels [divine messengers] which are bound in the great river Euphrates.”  Is this not the command given to Mary Baker Eddy in 1908 when she began her daily newspaper?
Cannot these four rivers be applied to Mary Baker Eddy’s four periodicals – The Journal (monthly, for the Word), Sentinel (weekly, for the Christ), Der Herald (Christianity), and The Christian Science Monitor (daily newspaper, for Science)?  When these writings become dry of spiritual enlightenment, and they become polluted with modern day beliefs of New Age philosophy and one-world order methods of government then Christian Science is in trouble.  What I mean by one-world order methods of government is when The Christian Science Monitor speaks up for and promotes the United Nations and other types of “globalization” practices (or “progressive thinking”).  And we wonder how the world went in this direction of socialism and communism – programs totally opposite of Christian Science – when our own periodicals promote globalization (etc.) and uniting with other Christian churches?  Christian churches were to join up with Christian Science not the other way around, yet Boston keeps promoting the idea that the Christian Science Church should join up with Roman Catholics and Protestants!  And they use the woman’s periodicals (four rivers of spiritually divine communication) in order to promote their agenda.  Why?  And why does the Field allow this to go on?  How long will the Field put up with the Boston Center’s false ways?
We now come to another grouping of times.  When the dam is opened up then the four angels (Christian Science periodicals) are loosed (free).  Verse 15 reads, “ And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year” — “with an hour is associated [to] the [number] ‘twenty-four,’ with a day [to] the [number] ‘seven,’ with a month [to] the [number] ‘twelve,’ and with a year is associated [to] eternity.  There was a sense of system.”[52]  Not only this, but we get the symbol of the clock – the round wheel and of the zodiac belt of constellations.  This is what Window of the Open Book translates back to God.  But we could also say that the hour is for The Monitor, the day is for our Sentinel, the month for our Journal, and the year for Der Herald (the messenger = an angel).  To be honest I do not know much about Der Herald, if it is a weekly publication or not, like the Sentinel.  But the reason why I apply it to the year is because of its meaning, where there is an angel (messenger) for each 1,000 years period.  However, the year could just as easily be for the Christian Science Quarterly, the weekly Bible lessons that go throughout the year.
This voice says to the sixth angel of Truth, “Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river, Euphrates.”
Euphrates (river).  Divine Science encompassing the universe and man; the true idea of God; a type of the glory which is to come; metaphysics taking the place of physics; the reign of righteousness.  The atmosphere of human belief before it accepts sin, sickness, or death; a state of mortal thought, the only error of which is limitation; finity; the opposite of infinity.” (S&H 585:16)
Are not the four angels that have been bound the same divine infinite calculus that the four living creatures symbolize, that the four rivers of Eden symbolize, and that the four horns of the golden altar symbolize?
And the four angels are free, “Which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.”  The divine infinite calculus is free in order to slay the First Degree.  Is not it also possible that the hour is the Word, a day is the Christ, a month is Christianity, and a year is Science?

Verse 15 cont. – “‘for to slay the third part of man’—Truth destroys the false identity of manhood.  (See also S&H 450:27-451:2.)”[53]
Yet, there seems to be a disagreement between what Doorly presents (above) and what Hoyt presents – a great number of horsemen (two hundred thousand thousand) appear to be present.  These horsemen represent material carnal belief that darkness and terror have power to cause calamities and torment.

Verse 16 – “‘two hundred thousand thousand’—a symbol of true manhood and womanhood applied to the human.”[54]  This is the number of “the army of the horsemen”.  It is said of this army that they are to kill the third of the men.  But does this mean that this army is to annihilate the “First Degree of Depravity.” [S&H 115] or annihilate the “Third Degree of Understanding.”? (S&H 116)
Edyth Armstrong Hoyt says that these horsemen bring back the memories of the four horsemen of lust, war, greed, and death with their consuming, choking, smothering, propaganda that come forth from their mouths (their speech), their words are plagues of torment.  I guess it depends upon whose side this army is on?  Are they fighting for Truth or are they fighting for error?  Which side does a Christian Scientist fight on?  If they are fighting on the side of error, is it because the Church hierarchy has fooled them?  Have they accepted false teachings promoted by the Church, and propaganda released by the Church, against Mary Baker Eddy that say that Mary Baker Eddy is not the woman God-crowned?  Have they accepted the lies about her that she is nothing special, she just happened to get to the top of the hill before everyone else did and this is why she discovered Christian Science?  Have they fallen for the red dragon’s flood of lies against their Forever Leader?

Verse 17 & 18 – “‘fire’ symbolizes fear, ‘smoke’ symbolizes ignorance, and ‘brimstone’ symbolizes sin.  The procuring cause and foundation of all sickness is fear, ignorance, or sin” (S&H 411:20-21).  It is fear, ignorance, and sin which make men dead to spiritual things.”[55]  Yet, these torments are self-destroying.  That which is destroyed is the First Degree.
The only power they have is the power of suggestion and to convince you of their lies.  The false reasoning (not of the divine infinite calculus) hurts with the use of sly malicious suggestions.
These universal beliefs (lies) of darkness (mortal mind) and fear were terrifying, but not awakening to their freedom, some mentalities continue to worship the beliefs idolatrously, and suffer thereby.  They worship devils (evil doers), idols of gold (those who claim to be divine) and silver (humans in high places) and brass (military leaders) and stone (strong and hard minded thoughts) and wood (mortal minded feminists).  These mentalities, based upon dualistic thinking (idolatry), did not repent of all their evil doings.

Verse 19 – “For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails”—“the original devil was a great talker, and was supposed to have out-talked even Truth, and carried the question with Eve.  Also the original texts define him as an ‘accuser,’ a ‘calumniator,’ which would be impossible if he were speechless.” (Mis 191:23-28)  “(See also S&H 529:21-29.)”[56]
“Error, urged to its final limits, is self-destroyed.” (S&H 476:6)
In this tone of Truth as Truth we have seen “the fourfold divine calculus (the ‘four horns’ and the ‘four angels’) operating as a sword, as a standard, as true manhood, as health, as sonship, to uncover fear, ignorance, sin, and the false sense of manhood and womanhood.”[57]
Declaration of Truth, an outpouring of gratitude, “is able to start the self-destruction of even Lust, War, Greed, and Death in their infamous attempt to propagandize man and saddle him with the torments which they represent.  Thus, we see gratitude operating as the second woe to material thinking.”[58]
In order to overcome false brotherhood (within The Mother Church) we must hold gratitude in our hearts for Mary Baker Eddy.  This gratitude should be accompanied by understanding the angel’s reed like unto a rod (Christian Scientists must understand the spiritual teachings in “Recapitulation”) and eat or mentally digest the angels’ little book open.
Just as Jesus Christ was deified because the first woe brought forth true Science, so Mary Baker Eddy is maligned because the second woe brings forth true Theology.
Before moving on to the seventh angelic trumpet we come to John’s Interlude with Chapters 10 and 11.  It is of great importance that these two chapters come before the seventh trumpet is heard.  Chapter 10 is about the angel descending from heaven with the little book open (the first gift).  She is the Sixth Star-Angel – Mary Baker Eddy, a.k.a. Michael (Truth).   Chapter 11 is about the two witnesses (Jesus Christ and Mary Baker Eddy) and the second gift (the measuring reed).  The two gifts figure in greatly with the second coming of Christ.

[26] “In the Old Testament, the Day Star is a reference to Lucifer, the sun god of the Babylonians, (Isaiah 14:12).” (ASJP; footnote on page 61).  Actually, this Day Star or Morning Star was a reference to King Nebuchadnezzar.  This whole story about the wormwood resembles a story in regards to the goddess Ishtar (Semiramis) – the early type for the Babylonian Harlot (a Mother Church of material organization).  There is no doubt that St. John knew about this goddess, as she was married to Nimrod, the man who built the Tower of Babel.
