Judge Hanna’s Christ and Christmas – Part 4

by MJSmith

We are now ready to take our third step up on the Major Pyramid Matrix of Truth.  Remember, all my additions to the Hanna manuscript are in bold letters.

CHRISTMAS EVE – Illustration 4

Christmas Eve

Thus Christ, eternal and divine,
          To celebrate
As Truth demands, – this living Vine
          Ye demonstrate.

For heaven’s CHRISTUS, earthly Eves,
          By Adam bid,
Make merriment on Christmas eves,
          O’er babe and crib.

The tabret, and pipe and wine, are in their feasts:  but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of His hands.  Isaiah.

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.  Job.

“The cornerstone of the original Mother Church was laid in the evening and Mrs. Eddy tells us that this original edifice is the ‘cross.’  The extension had its corner stone laid in the morning and is a symbol of the crown.  [The Extension’s cornerstone was laid on a Saturday, on Mary Baker Eddy’s birthday – July 16, 1904 – “at eight o’clock in the forenoon.”[1]]  Before the original edifice could be built in December of 1894, the followers of Mary Baker Eddy had to overcome their limited understanding of her as just another mortal.  The false concept they carried of Mrs. Eddy gave her the cross to bear.  The building of the original Mother Church was an overcoming, in part, of the students misunderstanding of their Leader.  Only when Mrs. Eddy was recognized as having an equal mission with Christ Jesus [I say she had a higher mission than that of Jesus because woman is the higher idea.], did the building work go forward, and this recognition came when Christ and Christmas was published.”[2]
“Christmas Eve” presents the false picture of Mary Baker Eddy’ Life Mission – the one the world holds of her, and accordingly there is no light, but darkness.  The outcome of this false estimate of our Leader is the illustration on the same level as this one – that of “Treating the Sick.”  The only lighting there is in this illustration is that of electrical lighting – animal magnetism.  We could say that the light presented in “Christmas Eve” presents the false picture that the world holds of Mary Baker Eddy, as they believe that she stole (plagiarized) her idea of Christian Science from the mesmerist Doctor Phineus Parkhurst Quimby.  This, of course, is a lie.  Christian Science and animal magnetism are total opposites.  Science heals.  Animal magnetism has never healed anyone at all.
“‘Christmas Eve’ would stop the correct understanding about the Revelator, and attempt to reverse the Revelator’s mission by an improper recognition.”[3]
“So with one hand upon the stone, our heads uncovered and faces toward the western sky [toward Science itself], where the clouds of the weary day were disappearing, we stood in silent communion with God.” (This was on May 21, 1894)  “The sun which had been behind the clouds for three days, burst forth in brightness just at this moment and shone upon the corner stone.”  Knapp [Refers to laying the cornerstone of the original Mother Church.]  The author is speaking about Ira Knapp one of the Board of Directors.
The first half of Mary Baker Eddy’s poem, seen above, demands that you demonstrate the Christ, Truth.  This is really the true celebration and birth of the Christ idea.  “Heaven’s Christ-celebration is obscured and counterfeited by mortal man bidding mortal woman to make merry on Christmas eves over mortal babies and the belief of procreation.  This is the complete reversal of the true Christ-idea.”  “Christmas Morn” corrects this error and “Christian Science Healing” heals this error.  [Infuses added.]
Although it is not illustrated in “Christmas Eve” the author states:  “Music and drink are in their ceremonies…”[4]  What the author says next is true:  “but they regard not the Christ, nor consider the operation of God’s being.”[5]  The operation of God’s being is the divine calculus, the operation of Science itself.  The result is that mankind has a false concept of creation, and because of this mortal man’s days are full of trouble.
The order of Christ and Christmas follows the same order as in the first chapter of Genesis – “And the evening and the morning were the first day (or second, third, etc.).”  First is depicted “Christmas Eve” to be followed by “Christmas Morn.”  Actually, the Hebrews followed this same idea, as with their Sabbath Day.  They begin on Friday night and continue it into Satur-day.  “‘Christmas Eve’ shows what needs to be uncovered and handles all the beliefs of the carnal mind stemming from sexuality.  The remedy for Eve’s submissiveness to evil comes through the Woman prophesied, Mary Baker Eddy.  In this picture we can clearly see what Mrs. Eddy had to meet from false manhood.  The Adam thought, manipulating the false concept of womanhood, Eve.  It continually confronted her, and would have stopped her work if it could.  Actually, I find it interesting that Adam does not name the woman (she is not misidentified by mortal mind) until after the curses have been handed out.  Also, spiritually interpreted, what seems to mortal finite sense to be a curse given to the woman in Genesis 3:15, 16 is really a prophecy.
Part of this prophecy, with the first coming, is the Virgin Mary (the woman) giving birth to the man child (Jesus).  This prophecy is continued, with the second coming, as Mary Baker Eddy (the woman) giving birth to the man child (Christian Science).  Sharon’s Rose Matrix has illustration correlating with the “Madonna and Child” Keystone.  I feel that this Keystone symbolizes both comings of Christ.  Mary Baker Eddy’s chapter “Atonement and Eucharist” helps us to understand the real Mother (God) and (man) Child relationship.  The man Child is not Adam but the Christ ideal.  “Children.  The spiritual thoughts [angels] and representatives of Life [Christ Jesus], Truth [Christ Mary Baker Eddy], and Love [Christ Martha Jones-Smith].” (S&H 582:28)

Adam.  Error; a falsity; the belief in ‘original sin,’ sickness, and death; evil; the opposite of good, — of God and His creation;…a material belief, opposed to the one Mind, or Spirit; a so-called finite mind, producing other minds, thus making ‘gods many and lord’s many’ (I Corinthians viii.5)…the usurper of Spirit’s creation, called self-creative matter.” (S&H 579)

Eve.  A beginning; mortality; that which does not last forever; a finite belief concerning life, substance, and intelligence in matter; error; the belief that the human race originated materially instead of spiritually—that man started first from dust, second from a rib, and third form an egg [sex, sex, sex = six, six, six; the devil’s number].”  (S&H 585)

Children….Sensual and mortal beliefs; counterfeits of creation, whose better originals are God’s thoughts, not in embryo, but in maturity; material suppositions of life, substance, and intelligence, opposed to the Science of being.” (S&H 583:1)

“These three definitions certainly blot out the Christ-idea of Christian Science healing.  It will be of interest to realize that this picture represents all that must be handled before ‘Christmas Morn’ can shine forth.”[6]  Mary Baker Eddy handles all of the errors found in this illustration and we must do the same – be good Christian Scientists and good healers.  This illustration could represent Mary Baker Glover Patterson’s Life (before her healing) because this was when she had to overcome the belief in procreation in her own experience.  “It was this belief that blocked [Principled] Science from view.  Later, prior to the building of the original Mother Church, the followers of Mary Baker Eddy had to also overcome this false estimate of her.”[7]
James Gilman (from his book Recollections of Mary Baker Eddy) did not want “to paint” this picture because the big tree is grotesque, it is not finished or complete.  Christmas trees came from the pagan’s winter solstice and had nothing to do with the Christ-idea.  However, I feel that we can translate what lies behind the idea of a Christ-mass (that which is the Christ congregation) tree (a spiritual connection of earth and heaven).  If we look at the tree it has the shape of a pyramid – a pyramid matrix of Truth!  Its capstone head is missing.  This tree correlates with the original Edifice in Boston.  The capstone head of the Boston Edifice is Mother’s Room – or that which represents Mary Baker Eddy’s conscious thought.  Material organized religion cuts off the head of its true Leader, its Reverend or Revered Leader.
This illustration celebrates the birth of the human Jesus.  The belief of birth – Adam, Eve, children – is what is responsible for human birth, manhood, womanhood [I feel that the author should have used mortal man and mortal woman instead of manhood and womanhood], the belief of separation, old age, invalidism, distress, and death.  This illustration has no star, only artificial light – electricity.  “The Christ light of healing cannot find entrance into gross materiality and sensualism.  Mrs. Eddy encountered and overcame these evils in her experience, and so must we.  The rectangular shape of the picture again shows that much has to be worked out, ‘even the gold of human character.’”[8]  Some of John W. Doorly’s students feel that the rectangular shape makes it possible for us to use a template of the matrix tables for the divine calculus.
The author feels that the Christmas tree is explained in the same way that the tree of knowledge of good and evil from Genesis 2:9 is explained.  “This opposite declaration, this statement that life issues from matter, contradicts the teaching of the first chapter [of Genesis] — namely, that all life is God.  Belief is less than understanding.  Belief involves theories of material hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell, termed the five senses [the Big Giant Head of Adam man].  The appetites and passions, sin, sickness, and death, follow in the train of this error of a belief in intelligent matter.” (S&H 526)  There is a train in the tree.  It is a rather large train.  I call it the Mother Church Train.
“Are we still searching diligently to find where the young child lies, and are we satisfied to know that our sense of Truth is not demoralized, finitized, cribbed or cradled, but has risen to grasp the spiritual idea unenvironed by materiality?”  (Miscellany, p. 122)
Mary Baker Eddy overcame the beliefs of society of a human mother’s goodness, self-satisfaction, and a father’s stern and pompous nature, self-righteousness.  The children in this illustration are dressed in the differing tones of the Three Degrees.  The younger are in white, while the older they get in material thoughts (including the adults) are in black.  Many of the children are symbols of false mortal mind creation.    “You will notice that the separation of the sexes is the opposite of ‘Christian Unity,’ the opposite of generic man…You will notice, too, that the children are not given the Christ-idea, but tokens of the parent’s material form of love.”[9]  The parents give the children dolls – symbols of personal sense.
“Ignorance of self is the most stubborn belief to overcome, for apathy, dishonesty, sin, follow in its train.” (Miscellany p. 233)  The dolls represent a small impersonation of the false concept.  The true gift is found in the following quote by Mary Baker Eddy.  “Christian Science is not only the acme of Science but the crown of Christianity.  [The crown of the tree is missing, so Christian Science is missing in this illustration.  Remember where the crown is seen?  It is on the base level of Christian Science on the Major Pyramid Matrix of Truth, it is seen in “THE WAY”.]  It is universal.  It appeals to man as man; to the whole and not to a portion; to man physically, as well as spiritually, and to all mankind.
“It has one God.  It demonstrates the divine Principle, rules and practice of the great healer and master of metaphysics, Jesus of Nazareth.  It spiritualizes religion and restores its lost element, namely, healing the sick.  It consecrates and inspires the teacher and preacher; it equips the doctor with safe and sure medicine; it encourages and empowers the business man and secures the success of honesty.  It is the dear children’s’ toy and strong tower; the wise man’s spiritual dictionary; the poor man’s money; yea, it is the pearl priceless whereof our Master said, if a man findeth, he goeth and selleth all that he hath and buyeth it.  Buyeth it!  Note the scope of that saying, even that Christianity is not merely a gift, as St. Paul avers, but is bought with a price, a great price; and what man knoweth as did our Master its value, and the price that he paid for it?” (Miscellaneous Writings 252:17-253:5)
“Each of us must overcome the claim of animal magnetism that would keep humanity thinking of our Leader as basically a false type of man, rather than the type fulfilling Bible prophecy.
“The true tree is for the healing of the [thirteen] nations, and not to be decorated with materialism.  If we adorn this tree with materiality, false concepts of the Christ-idea, we lose the healing Christ.”[10]  In 1996 I had a prophetic dream that I call The Ghost Museum.  In it I was investigating sightings of ghosts (personal sense).  In this museum I was handed an illustrated poem.  I do not remember much of the poem except that it gave me goose bumps.  The illustration that went with it, however, I remember to this day, I can see it in my conscious thought.  On the paper was a drawing of a giant body sitting on a wooden chair.  His head was cut off by the edge of the drawing.  In front of the giant’s body was the floating head of William Shatner.  After this I went to the front desk to speak to the man, who I now believe to have been God.  I told him that I liked whom they chose for the giant’s head.  He said, “Yeah, I thought Shatner’s head would be funny.”
In May of 1999 this dream came true in the fact that William Shatner appeared on an episode of the comedy show Third Rock From the Sun.  He played the character known as the Big Giant Head.  Sometime after this episode I noticed that there was a floating head of a boy near the top of the Christmas Tree in “Christmas Eve.”  Then I noticed this head was the capstone of a smaller pyramid.  This pyramid had at the right lower corner an ornament that appeared to be a door – for Christ Jesus.  At the left lower corner was an ornament that appeared to be a window – for Mary Baker Eddy.  This triangle also coordinated with the symbols from The First Church Edifice.  For the boys head was like the Immanuel Arch that is outside of Mother’s Room.  The door would represent the window of “Mary First at the Resurrection [of Jesus]” and the window would represent the window of the fourth Mary window – the Woman God-crowned.

Christmas Eve Holy Trinity
“The mother [on the viewer’s left side] has more light in her garments, hence she is a higher type of humanity than the father.  The Book in the little boy’s hand is closed and handed to him by the old man (Old Theology).  The Bible is a closed Book to Old Theology, and Old Theology is a part of this material form of creation.”[11]  Old Theological religions are unable to heal man because it is based upon procreation and “original sin instigated by a suppressed free will.  Old Theology tries to extend its influence to coming generations and darken its understanding with a closed Bible.”[12]  We must wait until we take our next step up on the pyramid matrix before the Bible can become open.  As on this level, because the Bible is not open, then we will find that the Science and Health is not open in “Treating the Sick.”
“The invalid in the [wheel] chair is satisfaction and ease in matter, content with attention.  Her husband is bending over her, but he is hypocrisy [one of the red dragon’s beasts].  He is flirting with the younger woman beside the chair.  Note his hand in back of her.  This woman is alert and has understanding.  She is in the light.  She is uncovering error, but is still in human pity because of the invalid’s denseness and unalertness.  The old lady in the chair in the middle of the picture is mesmerized by the beliefs of old age.  Mrs. Eddy overcame every one of these errors in order to direct the Church of Christ, Scientist.  She destroyed the works of animal magnetism in order that ‘Christmas Morn’ might come.  A recognition of the woman God-crowned destroys all forms of evil.”[13]
Because there is no regular window in the room there is little spiritual progress among the Field.  However, there is the little window on the Christmas tree, so there is a way for the light of Christian Science healing to enter into this materially organized church if they will only recognize their Leader.  Mary Baker Eddy is the window, the transparency through which the healing comes to humanity.  Recognition of this will help you progress as a Christian Scientist.  You do not need to be a member of a church to experience spiritual progression and healing.
When our Leader is improperly viewed we cannot perceive her revelation, and we do not heal the sick, but we treat the sick without healing them.
The chair that the old woman is sitting in will be seen again.  It is the same chair that the practitioner is sitting in for “Treating the Sick” and the same chair that Old Theology is sitting in for “Suffer [Permit] the Children to Come Unto Me.”
Not mentioned is a serpent (Adam man’s nervous system) winding its way around the tree’s trunk (Adam man’s spinal chord).
There is a piano in the lower corner next to the woman in the wheel chair.  Nobody is playing any music here, hence they do not hear (understand) the “Eternal swells [matrix structure for] Christ’s music-tone[s], in Heaven’s hymn” mentioned in the last verse for “THE WAY.”

TREATING THE SICK – Illustration 8

Treating the Sick

The Way, the Truth, the Life — His word —
          Are here, and now
Christ’s silent healing, heaven heard,
          Crowns the pale brow.

Heal the sick.  Christ Jesus.

“Without the woman who is the transparency through which the Christ healing has been revealed, we will not heal the sick.  The angel in the book of Revelation [chapter 10] has a little book open for all to read and understand.  Mrs. Eddy tells us we find her in her writings.  This practitioner has a closed Science and Health.
“This picture is coupled with ‘Christmas Eve.’  If Mrs. Eddy is seen as a little old grey-haired lady, a mortal belief, instead of fulfilling Bible prophecy, the result will be a treatment without healing.  Her place must be established in every treatment.
“God’s Word is here, right now it shows the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  God’s Word is revealed in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.”[14]  “Truth is revealed.  It needs only to be practiced.” (S&H p. 174)  This illustration does not show it being practiced.  Christ’s silent healing is heard in heaven.  If we become as the little children we can enter into heaven when this happens we crown the sick with health.  It is Christ’s silent healing, not our silent treatments, that heal the sick.  Jesus instructs us to “Heal the sick.”  We can tell in this illustration that the sick man [Adam man] is not being healed.  “It is the Christ, the true being, the overcoming of the mortal dream of false creation, that enables the sick to be healed.”[15]
Likewise, as there is no healing in this illustration there is also no star.  The seven synonymous terms for God are not understood.  Most Christian Scientists believe that they can interchange the seven synonyms because they all have the same meaning.  But this is not true.  Christian Scientists must begin to understand the difference between Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, and Love!
“Malicious animal magnetism has effectively destroyed the seed of the woman, Mary Baker Eddy.  This picture depicts the error that will destroy Christian Science if it is used to bolster up flesh and maintain pleasure in matter — in other words, maintain ‘Christmas Eve.’”[16]  This seems a rather bleak outlook on the Cause of Christian Science.  For sure it seems as if the red dragon has effectively destroyed the remnant seed.  But this is not really true and we must not accept it as reality.  Christian Scientists must resist this lie.  However, I do agree that if Christian Science is used to bolster up flesh and maintain pleasure in matter that what is depicted in “Christmas Eve” is the outcome.
The bed’s perspective is off, it is grotesque, again Frank Gillman did not want to do the bed like this.  Mary Baker Eddy explained that the bed is the largest thing in human consciousness.  Hence, it had to be out of proportion to the rest of the picture.  “Sexuality, birth in matter, sin, sickness, disease, and death, dreaming and ease in matter, all take place in bed.  The patient is making no effort to rouse himself out of the Adam dream – his pleasure in matter.”[17]
“There is no medicine in this picture, so we can safely determine that this man is a Christian Scientist, or represents that type of Christian Scientist who uses Christian Science to support his ease and pleasure in matter.  He wants a healing that he might be relieved of pain.  This will enable him to continue with his pleasurable pursuits in matter.  He is not interested in conquering sin and ushering in spiritual regeneration.  Notice how enveloped in the pillow he is.  It is a chronic case (belief).”[18]  In “Christian Science Healing” the woman and man (from two different editions) both reach out toward Mary Baker Eddy for healing.  This Adam man is asleep and has both his arms under the covers.  He is willing to let the Christian Science practitioner work for him, to do the work.  He does not want to help himself.  This type of thought leads to socialism and governmental welfare programs.  He depends on the woman to “take good care of him, and he with his great generosity will pay her the fee, maybe.”[19]
“If we do not heal morally we had better not heal at all.  Our work for the sinner is to destroy his belief of sin in our own sight.” (from Mary Baker Eddy, Her Mission and Triumph)
An explanation for the white garments is that this illustration “represents Old Theology in new garments, but [Old Theology has become] far more diabolical.”[20]
There seems to be no recognition of Mary Baker Eddy in this illustration because the practitioner’s eyes are shut and the Textbook is not open.  With this type of work healing cannot take place.  “Is the practitioner utilizing and proving the Word of God that is here and now?  No, she is not.  There is no recognition of the Holy Ghost, divine Science.  This woman is declaring that there is perfect God and perfect man, probably a perfect mortal; but she is not uncovering the error, nor is she maintaining the fact that the Holy Ghost, Christian Science, heals.  Can you imagine where our Movement would be if all its practitioners were declaring perfect God and perfect man, but were not declaring that Christian Science is the law of Christ and that it is healing?  Practitioners would be believing that they are healing the sick, and not that Christian Science heals the sick.  They would be putting themselves in the place of the Holy Ghost, and thus they would be humanizing all their metaphysical work.  Would there be much healing in the Christian Science movement [the manuscript has a small ‘m’ for Movement here] when Christian Scientists are not declaring that Christian Science heals the sick, and at the same time the enemies of Christian Science are declaring that Christian Science does not heal?  Of course not!  The practitioner is not recognizing Christian Science as the healing Christ; therefore, she is attempting to bring about some healthy matter through her own treatment, and give the man some pleasure and ease in matter.  The man is not willing to do anything for himself because his sin is not being healed.  This picture is a real sermon for us.  We are too prone to see a corporeal being when doing metaphysical work.  The body must be kept out of thought.  She thinks she is healing.”[21]
The rocking chair that the woman sits in belongs to Old Theology seen in “Christmas Eve” and to be seen in “Suffer the Children…”  Old Theology would keep the Bible closed and now it would keep Science and Health closed.  A rocking chair is also symbolic of the motion of going back and forth over the same territory and getting nowhere fast!  Rocking chairs are also used to rock babies to sleep.  Would this mean that Mary Baker Eddy’s baby – Science and Health – is being put to sleep, being used as a toy for animal magnetism?
Mary Baker Eddy shows the proper form of healing in her capstone illustration “Christian Science Healing.”  Then in “Suffer the Children…” she shows the proper attitude of Christian Scientists in general with the little girl’s receptivity and pure child-like consciousness.  When our Leader is “recognized in our metaphysical work, then the healings will come swiftly and thoroughly, but not until.  A recognition of her place heals the sick.  It destroys all the claims of malicious animal magnetism.  This recognition removes all doubt about the efficacy of Christian Science healing.”[22]  There seems to be no appreciation for the Revelator or the Revelation in this illustration.  The two-fold treatment for a perfect God and perfect man is not enough.  “We must include the Holy Ghost and make a three-fold treatment – perfect God, perfect man, perfect Christian Science.”[23]  This is the Holy Trinity of Life, Truth, and Love.  It is important to recognize Mary Baker Eddy as the Woman of prophecy because then her discovery takes on an unquestioned authority.  When her place is seen and accepted doubt disappears.  She wrote in a letter to Judge Hanna, “The truth in regard to your Leader heals the sick and saves the sinner.”
What does it really mean to open up the Books?  I feel that it means that we must open up our spiritual vision to Truth about Bible prophecy.  We must begin to understand that the Bible is telling us about the Christ Advents of Jesus Christ and Mary Baker Eddy.  “The wristlet and neck band of white indicate that the practitioner is capable of uttering and demonstrating Truth, but she is being handled not to open Science and Health and recognize the Revelator, nor to recognize the Holy Ghost.  Thus she does not have the revelation.  Without this appreciation of the revelator, can we appreciate the tremendous work Mrs. Eddy accomplished that we might have this Christ Science?”[24]  Can we recognize the Holy Ghost in our metaphysical work if we do not love our Leader?  No, because the revelator and the revelation are inseparable.  “Because of this gross lack of love for our Leader, we have practitioners healing solely for the patient’s pleasure that they might continue in their mortal mind routine with ease and with a false sense of health.  The patients, therefore, leech onto the practitioner, seeking their salvation through a mortal; and they do not recognize the place of the woman either.”[25]
I am not sure I agree 100% with the following paragraph:  “Her tinged garment is a different color than the wristlet and neck band, and is the same color as Mrs. Eddy’s outer robe in picture ‘Christian Unity.’  Mrs. Eddy tells us that the cross Jesus bore up the hill of grief was the world’s hatred of his work and its misunderstanding of his mission.  This tinged garment on the practitioner represents faith healing and thought manipulation.  It would appear to be genuine Christian Science healing, but it is not.  That is the cross Mrs. Eddy wears in the picture ‘Christian Unity,’ symbolized by her outer robe.  Mrs. Eddy realized full well that the healing for pleasure in matter is the grossest of sins, and will bring about the loss of genuine Christian [Science].  This misuse of her babe smote our Leader sorely and gave her much to work out.  She knew that it would be the main claim of evil attempting to destroy her child.”[26]
In the poem “Mother’s Evening Prayer” by Mary Baker Eddy, she tells us how she feels about her man child – Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.  “Keep Thou my child on upward wing tonight.”  “In other words, Father maintain my precious babe through this eve.”[27]  We must handle the claim that Christian Science is to be used to bring comfort in matter.  If we handle this claim of sin as depicted in “Christmas Eve” then we handle the malicious claim placed upon Mother’s man child, and we shall preserve Christian Science.
Do you think that Mary Baker Eddy has forgotten about her child or is no longer working for the Cause?  If so you accepted the lie that she is dead!  She did not die, and she is still at work.
Although only the tip of the woman’s shoe is visible we can tell that it is a black shoe; therefore, the First Degree encases this woman’s spiritual understanding because her feet are upon the floor.  The time has come for Christian Scientists to take off their [black] “shoes and realize that they are on holy ground.  [Neither Jesus or Mary have shoes on “Christian Unity”.  Yet, a rule about shoes left upon the feet follows.]  Lift your shoes off of materialism and reach out for the sure foundation, reality, that sin might be put off and Christian Science healing be extended throughout the world.”[28]  [This command is depicted in illustration 7 – “Suffer the Children…”]  What is the error that must be handled in “Christmas Eve”?  The error is that Mary Baker Eddy did not give birth to Christian Science, that she is not its Discoverer, that she is far from being the second coming of Christ.  Overcoming this error will end the picture as seen in “Treating the Sick.”  We must recognize our Leader for this is the foundation and progress of the Christian Science Church.

This ends this portion of the Hanna manuscript.

One thing that I would like to add is a comparison of this woman to Mary Baker Eddy in “Seeking and Finding”.  Both women have a hand to their brow.  Mary Baker Eddy holds her left hand of womanhood to her brow while the practitioner holds her right hand of manhood to her brow.  I feel that this could symbolize the fact that Mary Baker Eddy’s ideal Church follows Womanhood as its leader while The Mother Church that is rooted to ecclesiastical despotism and scholastic theology follows false manhood [a majority of men who serve upon the Board of Directors] as its leader.
