The Book of Origin – Preface of a Man

THE BOOK OF ORIGIN – Pre-face of a Man

The book of Genesis, the first book in the Bible is really about the origin of man.  But which origin story are we going to accept as reality?  Are we going to accept the false material origin of man or the true spiritual origin of man?  We cannot believe that both are reality.

The two origin stories in Genesis are complemented by the two Scientific Translations that Mary Baker Eddy presents in her Textbook Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures pages 115:12-116:10, as follows.

*This is the Christ order for the seven synonymous terms for God.

Spiritual universe
In the third degree mortal mind disappears, and man as God’s image appears.  Science so reverses the evidence before the corporeal human senses, as to make this Scriptural testimony true in our hearts, “The last shall be first, and the first last,” so that God and His idea may be to us what divinity really is and must of necessity be, — all-inclusive.

This being said, I shall present to you right now these degrees for Genesis.

Genesis 1:1,2 – is for the operation of the scientific translation of immortal mind and the scientific translation of immortal mind.

After this the Bible continues with…

Genesis 4:25-5:24 – God translates Enoch; the problem of Adam is solved.

Genesis 2:6-Revelation 22:21 – The seven thousand year periods, presented in Genesis 1-2:4a, presents mankind solving the problem of Adam with Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.  The book of Revelation is the spiritual prophecy of the second coming of Christ – Christian Science.  This second coming of Christ takes place in the form of Christ’s Womanhood, her name is Mary Baker Eddy.

“Spiritually translated, the allegories of Adam and Noah point to the timeless Science of man, as the opposite of primitive mythology.”[2]  There are three full periods and a partial period that take place in Genesis.  The full first two foreshadow the coming of the male representative of Christ – Jesus Christ with Christianity and the coming of the female representative of Christ – Mary Baker Eddy with Christian Science.  The partial period in Genesis represents the third advent of Christ where man (we) identify ourselves with the compound idea that underlies the first and second periods of Genesis, the story of our own regeneration, and ultimate victory over mortality.  This third period is actually taking place today during the Seventh Day of Love, the Sabbath.  And it is prophesied toward the end of Genesis when Jacob is blessing Judah, “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” (Genesis 49:10)

Our Complete Journey
We journey (at first objectively) to the land of our sinless, spiritual selfhood, where manhood and Womanhood are one.  “In the fourth period we establish (subjectively) our oneness with the Principle of this idea.  Then in the fifth, sixth, and seventh periods [the three advents of Christ], the living demonstrations of what underlies the first two periods [Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy] secondly becomes the reality of universal being, and the problem of mortality is in process of solution.”[3]

Although this book is concerned only with the book of Genesis it is important to understand that Genesis is a kind of prophecy pattern as to what is to follow in human history.  This being said, I would like to present the three periods that Genesis is actually concerned with.

It is thought that Genesis is compiled of three different documents.  Whether this is true or not is not my concern.  I do feel that Professor Gary A. Rendsburg, of Rutgers University, could be correct in his theory that Genesis was written during 10th Century b.c.e., simply because certain things written about in Genesis seem to point to that time period.  There is no doubt that Mary Baker Eddy felt that Genesis’s two creation stories were based on two separate documents, and this was the latest theory about Genesis during her life time.  It is not my goal to try and prove which theory is correct in this book.  I am going to say however, that I do feel that after working through the whole book, that it does seem to be one written document, and I have been able to rationalize the differences between certain discrepancies found within the text through spiritual translation and metaphysical interpretation.

Professor Rendsburg translated the actual Hebrew Torah and presents this to his class, which I purchased on DVD.  I found it interesting in how the Hebrew words were used for word play, puns, etc.  He brings out that Genesis is basically about man’s relationship with God and as the book progresses it seems that God has less interaction on a one to one basis with man, or speaking directly to man.  But I feel that these changes take place because the tones of the divine calculus change.  While the professor’s literary insights are most interesting he does not point out the spiritual messages or the complete spiritual weaving that the book has.  And it is this that I hope to present to you throughout this book.

I also feel that the reason why the Bible seems contradictory to people is because they do not, nor ever have, understood the matrix structure of the Bible.  And I also feel that there are many people out there who read the Bible without asking questions!  How can we ever get anywhere if we do not ask questions about something?  This is exactly what I found myself doing while compiling this book for you.  One example is after Jacob had wrestled with the angel and overcome his fear of Esau the very next thing we read is how he puts Rachel and Joseph at the back and places his other wives and children before them.  The reader may assume that it is because Joseph is afraid of Esau!  But this is not true; he has overcome his fear by this point.  So, the reason for it is because a new order for the divine calculus is being presented to us.  Esau’s 400 men (divided by 4) become four groups of men representing the four tones of the Word.  Then the four servant sons represent the four tones of the Christ.  Then the seven children of Leah present the minor pyramid structure, with its four levels, for the four tones of Christianity.  And finally Joseph represents the total four tones of Science.

We must never stop asking questions, we must never stop being a thinker!
