Ezekiel 19 – The Capstone Vision – The Lioness of Principle

EZEKIEL Chapter 19 – The Lioness of Principle

Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, And say, What is thy mother?  A lioness:  she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.  And she brought up one of her whelps:  it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.  The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.  Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.  And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.  And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.  Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him:  he was taken in their pit.  And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon:  they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters:  she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.  And she had strong rods for the scepters of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.  But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit:  her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.  And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.  And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule.  This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

It is thought that the lioness is a reference to the queen of Jerusalem and that her two lion whelps are the two princes that become king.  However, I feel that this prophecy in Ezekiel points to a much more recent time when Mary Baker Eddy came upon the scene.  Why do I feel this way?  It is because this section of Ezekiel has to do with the tone of Principle; hence, it is the capstone section of his book, just as John’s fourth vision is the capstone of Revelation.  And this fourth vision from Revelation deals with the woman God-crowned and her manchild.  Both books of Ezekiel and Revelation are apocalyptic writings.  They have much in common in symbols and their structural makeup.
I will now take the same scripture and explain it to you, as it would apply to our modern-day world.
“Moreover take thou up a lamentation [mourn loudly, wail] for the princes of Israel, And say, What is thy mother?  A lioness:  she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.”  Earlier in Ezekiel it is made clear that a lion represents the first living creature, the Word of God.  So a lioness is the mother of the Word of God.  This lioness is Mary Baker Eddy, “God’s scribe” (as she speaks of herself).  She lay down among the lions of the Bible (the many books of the Bible[1]) and gave birth to her two princes, rulers of Principle.  Today’s modern Israel are those who heal via Christian Science.  These two princes are her Textbook and her Church Manual.
…“And she brought up one of her whelps:  it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.”  It sounds that this whelp is dangerous, however, it is really the Word that catches the prey (it captures the attention of the reader); it devours mortal men, not spiritual man, because this Word explains the total unreality of mortal man.  This Word, this whelp, is the Christian Science Textbook Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
…“The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.”  Now, this is a direct reference to Joseph (who represents Science and Womanhood) from the book of Genesis.  The nations (eleven brothers of Joseph) heard of him (Science).  Joseph told his brothers about his two dreams, how they would come to bow down to him, as he would become ruler over the nations (the brothers and their families).  After his two dreams they take Joseph and throw him into the pit and then have him go off to Egypt (the land of material bondage) with Ishmael’s descendants.
What are the chains placed upon Mary Baker Eddy’s Textbook?  These chains are the chains of copyright placed upon the book by the Boston Board of Directors.
Egypt is material bondage.  Through the copyright process of the Textbook the Boston Board of Directors placed all Christian Scientists under the thumb of material bondage via ecclesiastical despotism (Pharaoh).  By holding copyright over the Christian Science Textbook they made it impossible to get a copy of it unless you visited Reading Rooms, or purchased the book from the Christian Science Publishing Society.  This means the world was unable to read the Word of God so vital to the 21st and 22nd centuries.
There has also been further damage caused do to the fact that the Board of Directors refused to allow John W. Doorly teach his students the matrix system that he discovered within the Textbook.  They excommunicated him from the church and told the Field that his teachings were wrong and taboo.  This leaves the question, “How can Christian Scientists understand the Christian Science Textbook if they do not understand its structure?”  The answer is that they cannot.  And how could their Bibles be opened up if they could not understand the KEY to the Scriptures?  They could not unlock the Bible either.  Without this further enlightenment the members of The First Church and the Branch Churches became limited (placed in chains), they could no longer spiritually progress or spiritually evolve.
…”Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.”  Mary Baker Eddy had waited for her students to comprehend the importance of the Textbook’s Word and Leader (Prince) of the Christian Science Cause.  But her hope was lost for their outcry for a King, or rather for a church to meet at.  This church would be called The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts.  Because of this she had to take her second whelp, the Christian Science Church Manual, and put him in charge of this church, also known as the Mother Church (taken from the term of Mother’s [Mary Baker Eddy’s] Church).
…”And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.”  He too has the same result as the first whelp.  “And he knew their desolate palaces [where they rule the people], and he laid waste their cities [homes]; and the land was desolate [barren, lifeless], and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.”  The roaring represents him speaking the Truth.  Truth destroys all that is of error.
…”Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him:  he was taken in their pit.  And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon:  they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.”  This net was a trap, or entrapment, a snare.  He was thrown down to material law, the courts of human beings, in order to make a ruling about who was in charge of The First Church.  How could the Board of Directors continue to do anything when their hands were tied by the fact that they needed Mary Baker Eddy’s signature after she had (in their limited belief) died?  So they threw the Church Manual down into the pit, they ignored the estoppel clauses within the book, and then they began to disobey the By-Laws that God had written via his lioness scribe.  So, they delivered up the Church Manual to Babylon – confusion of the Word (language), being that it is misinterpreted and disobeyed by the Board of Directors.
“Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters:  she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.”  Mary Baker Eddy is the “Wine.  Inspiration; understanding.” (S&H 598:17)  She is planted firmly in the elements of  (divine) Mind.  She is fruitful in her demonstration of Christian Science and full of branch churches by reason (with the divine calculus) of the elements of Mind.
…”And she had strong rods for the scepters of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.”  And she had strong rods of divine Science for the scepters, for her students have sovereign power, of them that bare rule, for they demonstrate the Principle of Science.  For it is the man-woman of the Sixth Day of Truth, in Genesis chapter 1, who has dominion over the earth because this man-woman has sovereign power over mortal mind, matter, and personal sense.  In the height (the apex) of her mission there were a multitude of branch churches.
…”But she was plucked up [removed from her official office as Leader] in fury [rage], she was cast down to the ground [buried in a coffin and cemetery], and the east wind [“Destruction; anger; mortal passions”[2] of the Boston hierarchy] dried up her fruit [the spiritual demonstrations of her students and pupils]:  her strong rods [principled students of divine Science] were broken and withered; the fire [“Heat; inflammation; anxiety; ignorance; error; desire; caution.”[3] of those in charge of The Mother Church] consumed [destroyed] them [the students].”
…”And now she [Mary Baker Eddy] is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.” This sentence seems to present that Mary Baker Eddy is buried and dead, for she is in a dry and thirsty ground (no waters of elemental Mind seem to be present).  “Wilderness.  Loneliness; doubt; darkness.”[4]   But we must recognize the Truth about the woman God-crowned and recognize her true place in Bible prophecy as presented in Revelation 12.
“And when the red dragon [ecclesiastical despotism] saw that he was cast unto the earth [the serpent from the Garden of Eden was cursed to move in the dust of the ground], he persecuted the woman [Mary Baker Eddy] which brought forth the man child [the whelp].  And to the woman were given two wings [spiritual activity] of a great eagle [Science], that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place [in Bible prophecy], where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time [for as long of a time that is needed], from the face [mask] of the serpent [animal magnetism].” (Revelation 12:13, 14)

Wilderness. …Spontaneity of thought and idea; the vestibule in which a material sense of things disappears, and spiritual sense unfolds the great facts of existence.” (S&H 597:16)

…”And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule.  This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.”  Spiritual enlightenment has gone out (flickered out) from the principled rod of divine Science in her branch churches because of the capture of Mary Baker Eddy’s two whelps.  These actions have devoured her fruitage (scientific demonstrations of Truth) to where it seems as if she has no strong rod (student or pupil) to be a law unto his own self.  And this is worth mourning over.
Through this disobedience a false philosophy about Mary Baker Eddy began to pollute and confuse the Field’s consciousness.  And this led to even more trouble.  The only way to reverse it is to accept and recognize Mary Baker Eddy’s place in Bible prophecy.
